Terrace season!
August 17, 2016 · 2
Spring is here, the first rays of sunshine are here, the longer days are here, and so is that urge to enjoy the terrace and the garden. So at Trends we are getting down to work to tell you all about the latest in decoration and trends for your outdoor spaces.
Chill-out, that cozy corner that is here to stay:
for 2016 it is a must to have a space set up as a chill-out or zen area in your garden or on your terrace. That way your outdoor space will feel warmer, whether you are thinking of an industrial or a rustic corner, two of this spring’s outdoor decoration trends.
Bold colors
The sun is not enough, and this spring-summer it is time to shine. Bold colors are bursting into our outdoor spaces and have become one of the most popular trends at design, interior design and architecture fairs. Give your terrace a different touch with chairs, tables, parasols or planters in colors such as turquoise, orange, yellow, red or lime green. Hello, summer!
Natural materials
When you are outdoors, you clearly want to disconnect a little from your routine and connect with nature. And you will not achieve this just by having plants or flowers in your garden or on your terrace, but simply by using natural materials. Wood in all its variations and shades is always an excellent choice, and this season untreated wood is also being used a great deal, along with other natural materials such as wicker or rattan.
Aged objects
Another outdoor trend this year is aged objects, as well as metal decorative objects. Old pieces such as watering cans, planters or wheelbarrows will give your terrace or garden a chic look.
Outdoor rugs
When it comes to terraces, a rug will bring not only comfort but also a polished, modern look. Made from synthetic fibers, outdoor rugs are very practical thanks to their durability, resistance, low moisture absorption and easy cleaning.
